"Please, we didn't know what it did. I beg you don-AAARRGGGGHH" That was the last of the men who hired Yami. All of them told him a similar story so he was sure it was true. They hired him because they had heard about some strange bead that was so well guarded it had to be worth a lot. But didn't help him in the least. For no he decided to leave it at that as he didn't seem to have experienced any harmful effects besides the weird dark spots he kept seeing everywhere. Yami kicked the men over and cleaned his sword at the back of the man's clothes before putting it away and leaving the house. He quickly changed in a alleyway and walked home through the city's streets as the sun started to rise. Now that he was no longer wearing his disguise he remembered a promise he had made earlier and decided he might as well show up early. And so he took the subway to district 2 where he switched over to a blimp which took him straight to the district 10 resort.

From there he walked all the way to the royal palace. The guards at the front gate let him pass as always and he went into  one of the smaller libraries where he had promised to be for the meeting. Because he was early he chose a book at random and started reading while being comfortably seated in a heavily decorated couch. As he was reading he could hear someone walk up behind him and putting her hands over his eyes. "Hi there hawk, who am I?" Yami grinned as there was only one person who called him by this nickname. "Ah, who could it be… well I can only think of A little sparrow when I see these fragile hands." Yami took the hands down softly and turned around. Behind him stood a young woman in her early twenties dressed in a beautiful dress. "Good day princess, I see you are well today." The princess smiled and waved her finger around. "Tut tut, to you I will always be Sparrow. And you will always be my Hawk and don't you ever forget it." "Ok then Sparrow." Yami said with a smile. "How are you today and how is little Leo doing today? He must be a handful now that his sixth birthday is coming up." "I am doing wonderful as you can see, especially now that you finally had some time to come visit. And Leo is as happy and friendly as ever, oh, he told me to thank you for the bunny you sent over. I have not seen him without the little animal for even a second this entire week." Yami smiled at this and sat down after the princess had done the same.

"I'm happy I could make it here, it has been almost a month now since we last met. But you said in your letter that there was something you needed my help with?" The princess' face became more serious and she nodded slightly. "yes, I want to build an orphanage. Recently there have been a lot of chaos in the city and I wish to do something to help. I have heard that there are a lot of children who have lost their parents and I want to concentrate on helping them. That is why an orphanage came to mind. But I do not know enough about how the city works to realize it. So I was hoping you could help me with arranging everything." S she said this the princess took Yami's hand and looked him in the eyes. A trick she had used ever since she found him all those years ago and convinced her father to help him. Yami sighted and smiled. "How can I refuse this? So yes I will help and make all the necessary arrangements. The total cost would be about a tenth of your yearly allowance, but I take it you are willing to sacrifice that much? After that I am sure we can keep it running with sponsors, especially if you attach your name to it." The princess smiled brightly and hugged Yami for a moment before getting up." Thank you so much, I'll make sure the money is ready by tomorrow. Unfortunately I don't have any more time today, but do come by more often Hawk. I miss your presence in the palace. Everything is so dull around here since you left. Only Leo and father have been able to cheer me up, otherwise I would have died out of boredom." After this the princess left.

Yami was left alone in the library and sat down again with the book he read earlier in his hands. But instead of reading he was remembering the past. How he was sitting all alone in an alleyway in district 3 when  the young princess who had slipped away from her guards found him. He almost killed her back then, but even back then her smile could stop him in his tracks. After a while Yami got up and walked out. He headed for the front gate and left, greeting a guard he knew from when he was young on the way out. He grinned for a moment when he thought of how odd this would seem to anyone who knew his both sides. On one side the princess's personal friend and confidant who rose to the top of the cities elite while he was only 15 years old. Rich and powerful while he used to be the poorest kid in the world. And the merciless killer and thief. Who is feared by even the most evil of men. It's odd how things work out sometimes. But this is just how it worked out for him.
